Obbu Gallery is a four-story venue located in the heart of Tirana, featuring 554 square meters of interior space and 226 square meters of exterior areas. The design concept takes inspiration from the experience of an art gallery each space distinct in character, inviting exploration and sparking curiosity. The sequence of rooms forms a dialogue of shapes, textures, and perspectives, guiding visitors through a journey that feels continuous and ever-evolving. Materials, colors, and spatial compositions are carefully orchestrated to tell a story. This narrative reflects the passage of time, subtly paralleled to the seasons of the year.
A defining element of the interior is the balance of contrasts. Cold, solid microcement walls meet the warmth of soft carpets underfoot, while smooth lacquered surfaces stand alongside textured travertine and oak veneer. Blue emerges as a signature color, woven through the design as a visual anchor. These tactile and chromatic contrasts create an immersive, sensory rich environment. The space is enriched with custom crafted details that elevate its identity. Bronze painted metal tubes are bent into elegant curves, serving both functional and decorative roles. A mosaic of hand fired ceramic tiles in a 2×2 cm format pixelates a bespoke pattern designed by the studio. Elements such as bronze glass, mirrors, and Barrisol ceilings enhance depth and reflection, while bespoke blue upholstery adds a bold yet refined touch.
A sculptural lighting installation welcomes visitors as both an artwork and a functional centerpiece. Inspired by the fluidity of draped marble in classical statues, the piece appears weightless yet monumental. Its porcelain form rests on a suspended fire-resistant fabric, anchored to the ceiling at two points, creating a graceful sense of tension and balance. Delicate folds conceal a floating light source, casting a soft, ambient glow that defines the atmosphere of the space.
